Take My Belt Off...

Hey loves!

I was wearing an outfit (post to come soon) and I wanted to wear my leopard print belt and it didn't fit around my hips. It would have set my outfit off, J. Crew style (more on that later, I am so catching inspiration from them right now), but I had to settle for a larger belt that was ratted and tattered from being knotted around my waist in past usage.

I seriously considered going out and finding a another, longer leopard print belt. But then, I would be buying every belt I like in multiples. Uh, not gonna happen. By all means, if you got the money to do it, then consider it. I don't have the money because I'm living off that student loan money and I got to make it last.

Sooo, I have decided to buy the larger belt size (if it's a thrift find then clearly this won't apply because I won't pass up a cute belt if even if it can't be altered) and get extra holes punched in it so I can have the option of wearing it on my waist or hips. Most shoe repair stores will do it for a very low rate, or in some cases for free (as with my mom's case since she is like the man's only customer. I kid, I kid). Of course, find out what it will cost you in your area or buy a hole puncher for leather at a local craft/sewing store and you could do it yourself.

Now I don't want a belt full of holes either, so I suggest trying the belt on your waist and marking where you would want the belt to fit. Then get 3 holes punched; one for the original mark, then one evenly spaced in front of the original and behind.

This is what I've decided I'm going to do in 2012. I'll be back to let you know if keep it up or if I abandon it! But, hey, now I've got options! P.S. Who knows what song my title is from?!
